Helping prospective parents choose the country most suitable for them

Purpose

This site is designed to help prospective adoptive parents make an informed decision when adoptiong abroad.  It explores adoption systems, children available, medical records, costs, and parental requirements.  These factors contribute to how ethical (good or bad) the adoption system is as well as what countries are most suitable for specific reasons for adoptions and needs of the parents.

Why These Countries?

This site explores the adoption systems of China, Russia, Guatemala, and India.  They are among the top countries U.S. families adopt from, comprising about 75% of all adoptions into the U.S (Craft).  I also believe it is important to look at diverse locations.  While China and Russia are neighbors, they are very different countries (economically and culturally) and are very common choices for international adoptions. Guatemala is important because of its proximity to the U.S. as well as its popularity.  India is important to explore based not on its current adoption rate, which ranks only eighth on its adoption rate (ranks are of countries who currently allow U.S. adoption), but on its growing popularity among Americans adopting abroad.
